The Mother’s Day Post

Satyamev Jayate – Aamir Khan Productions. Everyone is talking about it. What the heck is it anyway? Aamir Khan trying to make a TV presence before he’s too old for the movies – that was my first reaction. But one of my friends posted the female feticide episode of Satyamev Jayate on facebook, and I couldn’t help but watch it. This one-hour was a rollercoaster of emotions for me – hatred, anger, disappointment, pity, helplessness, fear, shock, pride and hope. It was like feeling all these emotions in the same moment.

I am a philanthropist. But every time I look around, there is so much in this world that needs to change. In the US, in India, in Africa, in China and everywhere in the world… Like Mr.Khan just said, there is hope – all these problems can be resolved in just one second; the second we change our minds. Just one second; that’s all it needs. Here is the video of Satyamev Jayate’s episode of female feticide. Please take time to watch it and turn the subtitles on if you need to. At the end of the show there is information on how to help!

Also, here is an open letter to Aamir Khan. I am taking the liberty to write this on all my readers’ behalf; please feel free to chime in:

Dear Aamir,

Hope you are doing great. Actually, we think you are! I am talking about your show Satyamev Jayate (re: female feticide). Thank you for bringing this topic up to millions of people and connecting the dots to let us know how big this problem is. Your show has made us realize that everyone of us is a part of the problem, everyone of us is affected by this and everyone of us is important enough to play a part in it’s resolution as well. Thank you.

Also, consider this letter an open support to the cause. I know most of the people reading this are probably not living in India. But that doesn’t mean we can’t help. We are willing to take a stand and do everything we can to stop sex selective abortion.

Again, thank you and best wishes. I hope we can make this world a better place.

Best,

Readers – The Labyrinth

P.S. I am going to send this out to my contacts. Readers, please do the same. I appreciate the support.

  1. Did You watch one on “Sexual Harassment at a Young Age” ?!?!
It was intense. I was so scared. the whole society needs to be re-framed. All the minds must be washed and re-filled with values. like you said, I felt all the emotions at once; rage, helplessness, fear, hope and at the same time, loss.
I really hope that Aamir reads it. Also, all those people who didn’t realize that they committed a sin-crime, but the ended up doing it every time.
There is a lot of good that yet has to come to this world, and I’m sure that people like us, will bring a change.
    Take care.
