Concluding 2011. Finally.

Almost end of 2011. It was a long year that taught me a lot. literally changed my perception of everything. I am super excited about 2012! I know it will be better and happier for me, my family, my friends and well wishers. Ill-wishers can  kill themselves, I don’t care! So, talking about 2011, it’s that time of the year when I do a status check for goals I set for myself beginning of this year and post about new goals. Read here for mid-year status check. Here is the latest update:

Become absolutely debt free — CHECK
This was a big one! And trust me it feels great to not give away a part of your income to a bank, that is actually out to get you. Now I know what freedom tastes like 😛 delish!

Eat at home more often — CHECK
Cooking and eating at home is healthy. How so I know? Well cz I did it. D’oh! Also, it helps you lose weight. Just that. I mean even without working out.

Get myself a real savings account — CHECK
And yes I am putting some money in there too lol. i call it the travel fund!

Travel — EPIC FAIL
Yup. Forget a new country, I didn’t even travel within the country. So may be a goal for 2012?

Simplify life – De-clutter and organize life. Get rid of all the stuff I don’t ever use anymore. And get everything I own, a home. Get back on schedule and make sure everything is in proper working condition. I read somewhere, it brings in good chi — CHECK
Better system for organizing my stuff is in place. Life already seems lighter and happier 🙂

Learn a skill/get a new hobby –– CHECK
Painting is that new hobby. Here is a sample. One more big one in works, will post the picture soon 🙂

Yoga – practice yoga regularly for a calm and more peaceful mind and body — MEH, FAIL
Added to goals for 2012

Accumulate experiences, not material – enjoy the little things in life and spend more time with people I love — CHECK

Find more time for hobbies — CHECK I have been painting, sketching, reading and playing scramble more often. And it’s great!

Take time to breathe – CHECK

I am working on my goals for 2012. I will post them soon! Till then, let me know if you have a goal that you think I should include in my list. Also, tell me about your goals. What do you want to accomplish in 2012? See y’all soon!

    verb (used without object)
    1. to pause, as for breath; take rest

  2. I like the accumulate experiences and not material goal. I’ve been trying to enjoy those little things in life too. A good cup of coffee. The morning or evening sun. Although, sometimes it’s strangely difficult to enjoy the preset fully. You should let me know if you figure it out.

    1. It’s always nice to be able to enjoy the moment. But like you said, sometimes the anticipation of result ruins the taste. This is when I remind myself to breathe. It’s wonderful what a deep breath can do 🙂

    1. Hey Amanda, Thanks for visiting. I am happy that you like my blog 🙂 I hope my work keeps you interested.
And thank you for the link to liveyourlegend. That is a great site!
I agree with your five goal approach. Cz the goals also keep evolving over time. It’s better to stick with just a few and complete all of them and set too many and fail or forget about them. I like having ten goals cz I think I break each goal down to a point where it very specific. I do like the idea of keeping record of how they evolve over the course of the year. I will make sure I add that to the blog too 🙂
